So… People have been asking what gifts I want for Christmas, I wrote a list and on the very top was cleansing balm! I have been really scraping all my pots out hoping to last till Christmas Day but it wasn’t to be…they are all gone!!! This meant I HAD to go shopping.
I wanted to try something new. I have sat back and herd great things about the elemis pro colleges cleansing balm the only thing that has ever put me off is the price. It is £39.50for 100ml of product, which I think is pretty pricy…it is more expencive that the well reviewed Emma Hardie cleansing balm.
After reading all the reviews I was unsure what to expect. Other beauty bloggers/skin gurus seem to either really like the smell or hate it. I have to say I really like the smell, but thinking about it i like the smell of most Elemis products.
The texture of this is really soft and feels lovely in the skin. I think I actually prefer the texture of this cleanser to the Emma Hardie – which I found had a bit of a grainy texture.
As for the ingredients, Elemis have made it very difficult to find out what is really I the product – there are no ingredients lists anywhere on the packaging and nowhere to be seen on the internet. I have found out it contains Shea butter which is usually used for dry/maturer skin types. This shouldn’t be a problem unless you have acne prone skin. Shea butter is a fatty oil that is commonly used in cosmetic products which can clog pores if used on the wrong skin types. Never the less It has been fine on my skin.
So what are the cons?
Well… It’s not brilliant at removing eye make up, I have been removing mascara with either Bioderma or l’Oreal micellar water and then us inning this as my second cleanse.
As I have said before, the fact it contains Shea butter means it’s not comparable with all skin types.
And last but not least the price! It’s pretty pricy
I do really like this product, but the price kind of puts me off. I think you can get other cleansers that do just as good job for less money.
Elemis has come up with a brilliant plan with this cleanser, they supply it in a 20g pot, this is £9 and still lasts quite a long time. It gives you enough product to try it out before buying the full size version.
You can get both sizes on Asos.com
Has anyone else had a go at this cleansing balm?
