ON THE SHELF | MOISTURISERS

At the beginning of February I mentioned i was hoping to start a series of posts, On The Shelf, Showing you exactly what products I am using at that moment in time and how i use them. I Posted my ON THE SHELF | CLEANSER first.

This week I have my moisturizers, Some i use in the mornings some are used in the evenings but they all get used at some point in the week/month. It might seem a little excessive to have 4-5 Moisturisers on the go at once but they all do different things for my skin at different times.

So first up is the Body Shop Nutiganics day cream (PM) – this for me is slightly too rich for me to use in the daytime but perfect for a night moisturizer.  It is a light weight cream designed for the people with the first signs of ageing. It does have Shea butter in it which I am not a huge fan of on my face but it is great for more dehydrated skin than myself. It’s a great affordable skincare item, just be wary of the Shea butter if you have a more oily skin tone like myself. £14 the Body Shop

The Elemis Pro collagen marine face cream (PM) –  a gorgeous luxury moisturizer that I only use if I’m giving myself a really good facial, the full works, triple cleanse , exfoliate, mask and anything and everything I can layer on my face for maximum impact. I actually won this is a blogger competition and was blown away with how soft it made my skin felt in the morning. Here is the problem…. It’s expensive – £80 John Lewis

La Roche Posey are one of my favorite drugstore brands, they offer such a good range of products with really good core ingredients. They are fantastic for sensitive skins too. I find sun creams are too harsh on my face and I am a huge fan of there SPF range because it’s so gently on my skin and not greasy in the slightest. My favorite everyday moisturizer is the La Roch Posey Toeriane Fluid (AM). It is one of the most light weight lotions I have found, sinking into the skin really quickly ready for my makeup it’s perfect for a morning hydration. This has been a favorite of mine for about 12 months (I’m onto my second bottle). £15 eventual.com. From there range of products I have also taken to their Effecla Duo cream(TREATMENT). A really lightweight cream that banishes those blemishes and problem skin areas. As soon as I feel my skin is having a few issues I strip my routine back to basics (see my Blemish Busting Skincare post). The spots seem to not be quite so fierce on my skin after a couple of evenings use.
Last but not least is Simple Light moisturizing cream – This is on a similar lines to The LRP Toeriane Fluid but slightly richer. Its a really nice AM moisturizer and once sunk into the skin it is a lovely base for make up. The massive draw to this is the super cheap price. £4.50 and its available from most supermarkets and drugstore.

What do you have on your shelf.
