Skincare & Beauty Blog

When you train as a beauty therapist you get it drilled into you about the importance of eye creams. Most people only start using them when fine lines / crows feet have set in in their  late 30’s / 40’s but I think its important to start using them from a much younger age.

I started using eye cream in my late teens, not the heavy duty creams but a light refreshing gel that was cooling on the eyes. Now in my mid twenties i have found i much prefer a cream based product, i’m not overly fussy about one particular brand but i look for something that will hydrate my under eyes without being too heavy on the skin.

Clarins Eye Contour Balm £31.00 – A light weight cream formula that softens the eye area using rose water concentrate, Shea butter to repair & fight fine lines and cereal grain to nourish & moisturise. When this arrived through the door i was a little worried it would be too rich for me because its called contour ‘balm’ however the texture is lovely and silky smooth. Its very gentle on the skin and with it being Clarins it should be gentle enough for sensitive skin.  I tend to apply this in the evening so when i wake up my eyes feel less puffy and nourished.  I have been using my Contour balm every day after cleansing for a a month or two and its a really lovely cream. I have found since using it, my make up sits nicer on my skin without creasing under my lower last line.  Its suitable for all skin types however it does contain Shea butter so if you are super oily it bight be too rich. For 20+ skin its a great cream, Its not the cheapest but i would repurchase, in actual fact i have bought this for my mum for her birthday.

What eye cream do you use?
