Skincare & Beauty Blog

I try a lot of products, a mixture of high end & drugstore and I don’t tend to find I have a preference. Recently i have found when I am applying my make up I am reaching for these three products constantly and they happen to be on the more expensive side.

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue (£26) – A dual effective product that combines skincare & makeup in one tube. The gel like formula gives a really subtle radiance to my skin and the sheer coverage is perfect for ‘no make up days. I have shade Vanilla which misquote a good match however I think I could get away with buttercream which will probably be my repurchase shade. It is a very nifty product indeed, Its hydrating which means I don’t have to bother with my morning moisturiser, Having a SPF of 30 means i don’t have to apply a separate product either. The coverage means its just enough to not need foundation. A three in 1 product saves so much time, perfect for busy people / new mums.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation (£29) – A medium to full coverage foundation I tend to use on daily basis because I just love the effect it gives. When I apply this there is little to no need for concealer because it just blurs imperfections and pigmentation. Used with my Zoeva Silk Finish brush it creates a flawless finish.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (£56) – A trio palette of soft, finally milled powders that are designed to give dimensions to the face after applying your base. The palette consists of Dim Light, a neutral peachy beige powder that blurs imperfection and highlights the complexion. Incandescent Light, A pearly powder used for highlighting. This is a really nice fine highlighter that is subtle enough for everyday use. Radiant Light, A sun-Kissed golden beige powder that enhances the completion, I have used this as a really subtle bronzer that gives the face some degree of warmth. all three powders give your skin a sort of soft focus effect which looks gorgeous. I didn’t know whether this was worth it at first but i have had quite a few compliments on my skin since i have been using it!

I don’t usually tell people to run out and spend £50+ on a make up product but I really do think these are great products that are worth trying if you want to splurge on something for yourself.

What products do you like to splurge on?
