Skincare & Beauty Blog

It’s a while since I did one of these isn’t it! I love gathering together the things I have been loving recently and telling you what has impressed me the most. So ill just get on with is…..

Ill start off with travel. If you have probably seen that I went to Kenya in January, It was incredible. I have never had a holiday like it & I completely fell in love with the animals, culture & the people. We had the time of our lives and cannot wait to book another trip back there. Going on a Safari is something you must put on your bucket list, you will not regret it. I booked our holiday with Turquoise Holidays. March was so helpful in the booking process and the whole trip ran so smoothly it was quite unbelievable. If you need any convincing at all have a read of these blog posts ( Falling in love with Kenya , Maasai Village Trip , Kissing Giraffes )

Before I went away I bought this Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot cream (£13), I wanted to get my dry heels in tip top condition for flip-flops. I actually hate the feel of this cream because they lie when they say it’s a cream. Its more like a sticky gel. If kind of feels like You are applying honey on your feet – Gross. Nevertheless, it’s a really great product for hydrating the soles of your feet and my feet were looking of much better after just a few uses. I apply this at night, smothering my feet in it before applying some little trainer socks so I don’t get it all over my bed sheets. I really like the effect it has and I have even bought some for my mum too.

The It Cosmetics CC cream ($51) is something I have been using daily since the delivery arrived about 2 weeks ago. If you like a quick and easy base that covers uneven skin, blemishes and even has a high SPF in it then this is your baby. The medium coverage foundation is a perfect choice for holidays. I am going to Barcelona this week and this is going o be coming with me because it provides my the coverage that I like, with a velvet finish and sf 50 so it’s such a handy tube to have. I have gone for the shade Light which I think is a pretty good colour match for my skin, I think I could probably get away with the fair too. I love the packaging of this product, the squeeze tube has a pump dispenser.  I use one pump for my while face and use either my Real Techniques Sponge  or my Bobbi Brown full coverage blending brush and it blends really well into the skin giving a your skin but better look.

Everyone has had their knickers in a twist over the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick (£24), I am no exception. I bloody love this stuff. The colour and for me it has the right amount of pink to make it more natural.  The new Pillow Talk lipstick is made from the Matte revolution formula which is surprisingly not too drying but it does have lasting power. I have done a full review with swatches HERE.

Last up is the Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix daily cleansing Pads (£13). I will be honest I never really took a second look at these pads because the name kind of confused me a little bit. When I saw them on the shelves at the local chemist I thought they were a tub of face wipes, because it says daily cleansing on the pot. I was sent these quite a long time ago now and I have been using them a lot, in fact they are nearly all gone. Basically they are a pre soaked exfoliating pad, it has 2.8% Glycolic acid on the pad which gently exfoliated leaving skin brighter, and skin tone is improved.  They also contain Hyaluronic acid in the formula which hydrates the skin as it is exfoliating away the dead skin cells. If ageing is a concern of yours they I would really recommend these quick and easy to use pads. you get 60 pads per tub. Once you have swiped over your face & neck with the pad, use the pad on the backs of your hands, as they are one of the areas that you will notice ageing the most.

What are your loving at the moment?
