At the beginning of last week I hopped on a train down to London for an event with Olympus. The event was on Tuesday at Petersham Nurseries (Richmond) however I traveled down the day before so I could spend a bit of time with one of my best friends, Natalie. While I was in London I thought it would be rude of me not to do a bit of shopping. I happened to stumble into the Armani Box where a really lovely guy (can not remember his name for the life of me) applied the Georgio Armani Power Fabric foundation to my skin along with a hand full of other gorgeous products.
I have oily / combination skin so Opting for Luminous silk wasn’t really an option because I wanted something that was going to be fairly matte, long lasting and pretty much flawless coverage. I like fairly good coverage foundations. tinted moisturisers just don’t really do a lot for me unfortunately. The Power fabric foundation undeniably a full coverage base, and probably not an everyday foundation for me anyway. I actually wore this on the day I went to the Olympus event. I applied it at 7:30am battled my way to Richmond, Made a beautiful Easter wreath, carted said wreath back through London to catch the 19:55 train back to Sheffield where I looking in the mirror expecting to see literally no makeup left on my face and was totally shocked when there was actual foundation left on my skin. I was super impressed.
These pictures are with just the foundation alone & mascara. As you can see in the before photo (I know I look Vile by the way but I had a really red mark where a spot used to be, The foundation almost covered this red mark which I though would have never been possible with just a foundation alone but this absolutely did cover it.
How does it apply? I like to apply this with either a damp Real Techniques sponge or my Bobbi Brown Full coverage Brush and really buff it into the skin. I personally don’t feel the need to wear a primer at the moment however if I fancy a bit of glowiness to my skin I will possibly use my Becca Shimmering Backlighting Filter. I think if you have incredibly dry skin this would possibly be too drying and maybe sit a little funny on the skin if you didn’t prep with the correct primers first. I am really happy I took the time to get colour matched in the Armani box because the foundation can oxidize on the skin slightly, this is down to the SPF in the formula. I am wearing shade light to medium 5 which is a pretty perfect match, but there are plenty of shades to choose from no matter what your skin tone.
I think this foundation is really fantastic and It is great for a really flawless base. The texture of the fluid foundation is really interesting, If you get the chance to try this out then I would definitely recommend to head to a Georgio Armani counter….
Have you giving this a try?
