Ahhhh, Summer, I love you so much…
We have been spoilt rotten with the gorgeous weather here in the UK this year and I’m not ready for it to be over… We still have a while left until autumn so I intend to make the best of the warm evenings & light nights so here is what I class as a perfect summer night.
Get some Fresh Air.
Walking with Archie in the peak district is my idea of a great night, taking a million snaps as the sun meets the horizon. I like to take my dinner and sit and watch the sunset if I can, I have been known to grab a takeaway Thai or Chinese and take it to my favourite viewing point, Burbage. Food always tastes that bit better with a beautiful view, doesn’t it?
Making memories with friends are priceless, Getting together, chatting, giggling like we are 12 years old and whacking a few burgers on the BBQ are some of my most memorable nights and I would be lost without these legends. As you get older your friendship circles tend to shift and often get slightly smaller, for me, it’s all about the quality of the relationships with my friends that I respect the most. We may not see each other or speak to each other all the time but we are always there for each other no matter what. If you find friends like this, keep em, they are an extension of your family.
Take It Easy
If I’m not out and about, filling my lungs with fresh air I like to catch up on my favourite tv shows (Love Island, Obviously) and my Netflix series although at the moment I don’t have one I’m really into. I have been told to watch Queen of The South. If you have watched it already pop me a comment below and let me know if I need to give it a try. So what are my essentials for my summer nights in? First thing Is first, grab some snacks, pick and mix, popcorn, chocolate or if I’m feeling healthy carrot and hummus, but let’s be honest, it is usually sweets. I have a fairly open plan kitchen and living room area so I tend to leave the patio doors wide open to let the evening breeze drift. After lighting all the candles I own I like to pop on my favourite program and chill the F**k out. At this point I usually have a face mask on, The Merumaya Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel is my current choice and if I’m feeling extra sassy I have a Brockmans Gin & Tonic to finish off the evening
What is your idea of a perfect summer night?
