Pre & Post Gym Skincare Routines

I don’t know how it happened but I’m now a huge gym go-er now. Who even am I? I tend to hit a class about 5/6 times per week so it has taken me a little while to sort a facial routine that suits my skin. As you may expect with me these days, Simplicity is Key, So here are a couple of tips and tricks I like to use to keep skin looking clear.

Pre Workout:

A lot of us cram a workout into our busy schedules whether that be before work, During your lunch hour or on your way home from work so it isn’t always possible to remove your makeup prior to a training session, Don’t worry, Its not going to make your face fall off but it could cause clogged pores and unwanted blemishes if done regularly. For this reason, it is always advised to double cleanse your skin to remove makeup, SPF and environmental pollution.

I very rarely train outside, I’m not a natural born runner, however, if outdoor training sessions are your thing whack on some SPF to protect your skin for UV damage.

Post Workout:

You may be tempted to get home, Have your dinner & watch tv than have a shower but Its quite important to get the salty sweat off your skin. Cleansing your skin again will help to keep it looking clean and healthy after your workout.  After cleansing, I continue with my normal skincare routine,  serums, Oils, creams etc… One thing to mention, I love using an acid toner during my routine, Something Salicylic acid(y) is what I usually opt for due to its blemish fighting benefits but there are other acids out there if this isn’t suiting your skin.
